Barely two weeks after two robbery suspects were set ablaze in Anambra State for robbing an Hausa trader at the New Tyres market, another pair have gotten a fair share as they received exactly the same treatment by an angry mob in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
The two armed men were set ablaze after they reportedly snatched a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag containing some unspecified amount of money from a woman on a commercial motorcycle.
The woman believed to be the cashier of a local bank branch in the town was said to be taking the money to the bank.
According to Pulse reports on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 after snatching the money, the armed bandits shot sporadically into the air.
However, luck ran out on them when their motorcycle had an accident as they were trying to escape with the stolen money .
The woman and other passers by raised an alarm which attracted the attention of a police patrol team who reportedly engaged the assailants in a hot chase.
Eyewitnesses said the armed bandits fired sporadic shots at the police who returned fire in exchange.
However, the bullets were said to be unable to pierce through their bodies.
The raging crowd eventually overpowered the hoodlums and then meted out the treatment which could be best described as jungle justice by setting them on fire.
