Confusion has engulfed several persons following the news of a 21-year-old man who dug up the corpse of a newly buried woman and repeatedly had sex with it until he was caught by cemetery attendants.
The pervert who hails from Russia was consequently arrested on charges of necrophilia.
According to police information, the man had dug the grave of the 39-year-old woman and brought out the coffin which he opened and sexually molested the corpse at Monchegorsk graveyard in the far north region of Murmansk, Russia.
Although the man’s identity was not immediately disclosed, reports state that he is from the neighbouring Arkhangelsk region.
A criminal case has been opened under an article of the Russian criminal code on desecration of the dead and their burial places.
According to the law, the maximum punishment would be three months imprisonment or a fine of up to £400.
