It’s an old magician’s trick to ‘walk on water’.

But Lenka Tanner is no magician, nor does she use a Plexiglas walkway or a block of ice to perform the trick as magicians do.

Ms. Tanner is a synchronised swimmer and the secret to her trick is that she’s performing it upside down.

The 28-year-old Slovak, who relocated to Nottingham in 2010, said she has been training to do the stunt for two decades and now hopes that she can in some way use it promote her sport.

‘For me, running on water is not that hard, because I’ve been practicing it for over 20 years,’ she told the Mirror.

‘The big deal for me now is to give the sport a boost.’

Ms. Tanner now manages AquaStars, a synchronised swimming team that meets at a Nottingham-based leisure centre.
