US President Barack Obama has become the latest sweetheart of social media platform, Twitter, gaining 1.7 million followers less than 24 hours after he joined the popular internet-based platform.
The 44th US President also elicited wagging tongues when he replied former US President Bill Clinton after the latter questioned the rationale behind the Twitter handle chosen (@POTUS, an acronym meaning the President of The United States).
Clinton had tweeted:
Welcome to @Twitter, @POTUS! One question: Does that username stay with the office? #askingforafriend

President Obama replied:
Good question, @billclinton. The handle comes with the house. Know anyone interested in @FLOTUS?
