Stephen Keshi looked unruffled after the colourless outing of the Super Eagles against an Iranian side they had boasted to riddle with goals. But on the night, there was no difference between the Iran team and the Eagles.
Keshi explained ‘’My boys wanted to finish the game in 20 or 25 minutes. But when that was not happening, frustration set in.
The Iranians did not come out to play and that made it difficult for the players to penetrate their defence”.
When reminded that his boys opted for high balls against the taller Iranian defenders, Keshi retorted; ‘’We didn’t play up balls. I am not happy but we should also give respect to the Iranians.
These things happen in football. Some days you play well and some days are like that. We’ll go back to training and see what we can do”.
