Some women who were aggrieved by their men’s poor performance in bed had staged a peaceful demonstration with several placards bearing different unprintable messages in the Limuru, Kiambu county of Kenya.
The women, some of who went as far as baring their breasts, said most of their men including the young ones have recorded dismal performance in bed and cannot impregnate their wives.
The Kenyan Daily Post reported that the women claimed that the trend was worsened by high levels of alcohol consumption which saw many men abandon their families.
According to them, only a few newly married women are currently pregnant while the rest are frustrated since their husbands cannot get them pregnant.
One of the protesters, Nancy Wangare, said: “If you walk in this village, you will find so many young married women but only a few are pregnant.”
The women threatened to move outside Kiambu to other counties where they can find real men who are serious enough to impregnate them.
The protesting women who are of the view that excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks causes low sperm count urged the government to make strict laws restricting drinking from 5pm to 11pm for week days and 2pm-11pm for weekends.
They believe that the move would help their men concentrate more on their families and be able to get their wives pregnant.
