After seeing a strong message on Twitter last September, which got her thinking, a feminist decided to pass a message across through an unusual means.
The message which prompted the whole reaction from Elonë Kastratia said, “Imagine if men were as disgusted with rape as they are with periods.”
“I’m not sure if its illegal, but seriously I don’t care [because] they are easy to [take off],” she wrote on Instagram. “I was waiting for a good moment, and I decided [International Women’s Day] would be the best time to do it,” she told The Huffington Post.
“The people on the street looked at it and thought about it! I wanted to make people aware of problems, and I wanted to provoke.”
Amazed at the level of clicks the photos got by internet users, Kastatia said, “I never thought that it would go [viral] like this,” she said.
“I wanted to only provoke the people in the city because there is so much sexism.”
“I’ve gotten many nice responses from very nice people all over the world. I also got bad responses saying I hate men or am seeking attention.
“I really don’t care, because I don’t hate men at all. For me, feminism means equality. As for the attention thing, I wanted to get attention on this thing!”
She later took to her Instagram page to express immense gratitude to her several audience who took out time to check out the messages despite the bizarre means through which she passed them across.
