A woman has reportedly been shot dead outside the Arsenal football stadium in London this morning.
Scotland yard confirmed a 38-year-old man was arrested after responding to a firearms incident near the Emirates stadium in north London.
Paramedics discovered a woman who had suffered a gunshot wound, however despite their best efforts they were unable to save her and she died at the scene.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘At this early stage it is believed the arrested man and the woman are known to each other.’
The shooting took place hours before the afternoon game between Arsenal and Burnley taking place this afternoon.
