A Russian MP has died after a bomb exploded in her car while she and her husband were ‘having sex’.
Oksana Bobrovskaya, 30, who was part of Vladimir Putin’s United Russia Party, and her husband, Nikita, were killed in the blast in Novosibirsk, Siberia.
Their semi-naked bodies were discovered on the back seat of their car indicating that they may have been in the middle of having sex when the bomb exploded.
Police fear the husband may have detonated the bomb in a fit of jealousy after sources claimed the couple had an argument before the incident and he had accused her of cheating on him.
According to The Siberian Times, a police source said: ‘There is a version that he held in his hands a kind of grenade, or a piece of TNT.’
While another Russian newspaper reported that the couple had a ‘conflict’ and that when the explosives went off, their faces were ‘disfigured’.
Yet the mayor of Novosibirsk, Anatoly Lokot, put down the claims and said the death of the MP was due to family problems.
Evgenia Romanova, who lives close to where the explosion took place, said: ‘It was horrific – something you would not wish anyone to see. No heads, glass covered in blood … a nightmare.’
Bobrovskaya was an MP in the Novosibirsk regional legislature while her husband was a former special services officer in the Russian military.
