A 26-year old woman, Chantae Gilman is to be arraigned after a man accused her of breaking into the house and raping him.
Her 31-year old victim said he woke up to find Gilman, who he called ‘a drug user in the area’ on top of him in his apartment with his arms pinned down.
Daily Mail reports that the man had attended a birthday party and fell heavily asleep only to wake by 2 am to find Gilman on top of him, his hand pinned down over his head and his erect penis “inside of her”.
He reportedly told her to get off but his pleas fell on deaf ears until he finally wrestled his way from under her before ejecting her from his apartment.
On her part, Gilman said she did not know the man and could not recollect being at his house or their sexual episode.
Detective Ishimitsu wrote: ‘She said that she has a mental illness and suffers from Bipolar disorder and Psychosis.’
A sample of her DNA matched female DNA recovered from the sexual assault kit.
The mother of 2 has been charged with 2nd degree rape for assaulting a victim ‘incapable of consenting to sexual intercourse by reason of being physically helpless.’
Officials say it was rare for a woman to be charged for rape.
‘From a statistical standpoint, yes, it is atypical to have a female aggressor,’ Detective Drew Fowler, told KOMO, ‘but we work to hold all people responsible for their actions. The law is specifically written to be gender-equitable and we will charge anybody with a crime that they’ve committed.’
