A creepy widow Verica Zunjic, 60,whose husband, Milograd just died had driven 230 miles from her hometown, Doboj, Bosnia, to a graveyard at Danilovgrad, Montenegro where her husband was buried and dug up the coffin.
It didn’t end at that as she also tried to escape with the deceased remains across border after abandoning his coffin on the roadside.
Speculations are high that she must have had some loggerheads with her deceased husband’s family and decided to bury the corpse close to her abode.
According to MetroUk reports on Saturday, November 15, 204, after sneaking into the graveyard where he was buried, she went ahead to exhume his body by digging up his coffin, before putting it in the back of her car and attempting to head home.
The trunk of the car couldn’t close after the corpse was placed inside but the determined widow consequently took the corpse to the backseat and planned to claim he was only sleeping in case of any questioning by border officials.
She wasn’t that lucky anyway as she was sighted by some motorists during the process who raised eyebrows as to what she was really up to.
A few miles into her journey, a police patrol stopped her and were able to identify her after surveying a CCTV footage.
A police spokesman said, ‘When officers stopped her she denied any wrong-doing and said she was “just taking what was rightfully hers”.
‘Unfortunately, exhuming a corpse without official permission is illegal, no matter what the reasons.’
