The former minister of information, Labaran Maku on Friday, March 18, warned Nigerians using social media to desist from using him as a tool to run down the former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Maku, who is currently the national secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in a statement said his attention has been drawn to some social media discussions quoting him as saying that Nigerians will stone the former president to death by the time President Muhammadu Buhari probes him.
“This is the fourth time political enemies are using my name against President Jonathan in order to destroy him,” Maku said. Adding that such a claim is wicked and ungodly, Maku said he continues to be Jonathan’s loyalist even after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) unceremoniously.
He said: “This is wicked and ungodly, every Nigerian knows that I am President Jonathan’s avowed loyalist and believer in the great job he has done for Nigeria.”
The minister went further to call on God to judge those behind the story.
Maku also said he has forwarded the social media accounts involved in the propaganda to security agencies for appropriate action.
“I invite God to judge those who are behind this cruel propaganda and satanic attacks. Those behind these wicked attacks on President Jonathan faking me as the source are exactly the evil ones destroying the reputation of our country before the world.
“It is very sad that we have reached this level of cruelty in the name of politics. I remain Jonathan’s loyalist and believer in his vision and achievements for Nigeria.
“Those hiding in the social media forest to perpetrate these evil propaganda should come out if they are courageous. They may hide in the social media but they can’t hide from God,” he said.
