An album and DVD of live performances by late singer Whitney Houston is to be released in November, her long-time producer and mentor, Clive Davis announced Tuesday, September 17, 2014.
“She was without question the greatest vocalist in the world,” Davis told NBC television announcing the November 10 release of “Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances.”
“There was no one like her,” he added.
Whitney Houston died in February 2012 a day before the Grammy Awards. She was found dead in her hotel bathroom by her assistant, shortly before a pre-Grammy party hosted by Davis.
Her death was ruled an accidental drowning, with cocaine and heart disease mentioned as contributing factors, by authorities. She was 48 years old.
Houston’s Christian funeral service was beamed live on CNN and flags were ordered flown at half mast in her honour in her home state of New Jersey.
