English premier league side, Arsenal face an uphill challenge when they file out against Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich for a UEFA Champions League game on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
One major challenge the Gunners will face is keeping Bayern Munich’s towering striker, Robert Lewandowski silent all through the game. The Polish striker has scored 16 goals in 11 club appearances this season.
Speaking about Lewandowski, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that defenders Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny have to be at their best to stop the 27-year-old
“First of all the best way to combat him is for us to have the ball.
“After that you have to be shrewd with him because inside the box he is outstanding, because of his technique, his finishing, his movement inside the box.
“That’s where we need the experience of Mertesacker and Koscielny to deal with that because that will be one of the important things on the night,” Wenger explained.
Arsenal is without a point and bottom of Group F after losing to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos.
