ASBURY PARK, USA – Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., has shared an optimistic update on his mother’s health, painting a different picture from claims that the former talk show host is “permanently incapacitated.”
Kevin’s comments came after his college graduation earlier this month, where Wendy was seen attending the ceremony in good spirits despite her ongoing health challenges.
A Mother’s Proud Moment
Kevin, who graduated from Florida International University’s Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs with a degree in economics, was joined by his mother at the event.
Wendy, using a red mobility scooter, stood and moved around during the ceremony, with onlookers noting her enthusiasm as her son walked across the stage.
Influencer and family friend Ronald Beasley, known as Ron.Insight305, shared videos and photos of Wendy at the graduation.
In the video, a voiceover described Wendy “jumping up” as Kevin’s name was called, showcasing her excitement and pride.

A Message of Hope
Kevin took to Instagram to thank friends and provide an update on Wendy’s condition.
“Thank you fam! Let’s get her home,” he wrote, accompanied by prayer hand and crossed fingers emojis.
In a separate comment, he added: “While I’m here quick update on my mom. She’s sober and wants to come home. We’re fighting to make that happen because isolation is killing her faster than anything else.”
Contrasting Narratives
This hopeful update contrasts with statements made by Wendy’s legal guardian, Sabrina Morrisey, who told The US Sun in November that Wendy had become “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”
Morrisey, who oversees Wendy’s legal and financial affairs, has been criticised by Kevin and others for her handling of Wendy’s care.
Kevin previously stated that he believes the guardian has not adequately protected his mother.
Morrisey has also been involved in a legal battle with Lifetime over the docuseries Where Is Wendy Williams?, which documented Wendy’s health struggles. Sabrina called the series “exploitative” and sought to block its release.
Wendy’s Health Challenges
Wendy Williams, 59, has faced multiple health issues in recent years, including frontotemporal dementia, aphasia, Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and struggles with alcoholism.
Her aphasia diagnosis was made public in 2023, with a statement describing its impact on her language and communication abilities.
Frontotemporal dementia, a progressive neurological disorder, has further affected her cognitive and behavioural functions.
Despite these hurdles, Kevin’s recent comments suggest that Wendy’s family believes her condition is improving, particularly in the context of sobriety and her desire to leave isolation.
