The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has admitted that it received a “little token” from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led administration of Governor Isa Yuguda.
It would be recalled that Mohammed Abubakar of the APC won the governorship election in the state.
This comes on the heels of reports that the Bauchi APC had collected the sum of N565 million, although the party denied the amount, saying it was less than that.
On the initial amount stated in the press, the Bauchi APC publicity secretary, Auwal Jallah said: “There is no iota of truth in all the allegations published by online media against the governor-elect and the members of the transition committee. No one collected such a huge amount of money from the state government.”
Although he refused to reveal the amount of money collected he enthused thus: “To put the record straight, it is the tradition for every transition committee to receive little token from the outgoing administration, and that was the only money received from the Bauchi State Government. And it is not up to one tenth of the amount quoted.”
