A nurse working at the emergency ward of a hospital broke down in tears after she learnt that a dying patient who was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state was her brother.
The nurse identified as Jennifer Medina, told KNBC-TV that she was working a busy shift at a hospital in Mission Viejo, California, in the night of Friday, October 2, 2015 when the man was brought in following a hit-and-run accident.
According to Medina, as doctors worked frantically to save the 23-year-old man, a fellow nurse looked for his identification and when she found his wallet, she immediately recognised it.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Cesar Andres Medina was crossing on a green light in San Juan Capistrano when he was fatally struck by a pick-up truck.
It was gathered that a suspect was arrested in connection with the crash on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
