A 27-year-old woman had gotten into a sexual relationship with her brother and had a baby with him.
Sophia Parker, reached out to her 30-year-old half brother, Edmund Bobby Ho, when he was in prison after serving time for a drug possession charge.
When he was released from prison, Parker moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, from Hawaii, where she was raised by adoptive parents.
She said, “He was the hottest guy I ever met. And he had a completely different demeanor than any guy I knew. He was just like a bad boy. I was vulnerable because I was here by myself. I just wanted that bond so bad.”
The pair of the same mother initially had sex and Parker became pregnant after which the relationship turned violent.
It was learnt that Ho forced his sister to work as a prostitute in order to pay their bills, and he would often beat her, according to World Wide Weird News.
Despite receiving a brutal beating when she was six months pregnant with Ho’s child, Parker said, “I chose to try to have a family because I thought that it would get better or it would work. At some point maybe the baby would level him out, or mature him.
However, she was forced to give her daughter up for adoption following the intense violence in the relationship.
Ho was later apprehended by security agents for abusing his sister to the point that she was hospitalized with broken ribs, nose and eye socket.
Parker was in critical condition and she was placed in a medically induced coma.
Ho who faced life in prison without the possibility of parole, accepted a plea agreement in which he pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping.
Las Vegas District Judge Douglas Herndon asked Ho if he had anything to say before sentencing, he turned to his sister and said, “I love you.”
The judge said, “If you love this woman you sure have a funny way of showing it.”In his verdict, Ho was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
Parker said, “I don’t know what it would take for both of us to be healthy individuals in this society. I just want this to be over with. I want the right thing to be done. I want both of us to seek the help that we need.”
