President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday, March 29, 2015 besought Nigerians to stay patient and wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to complete collation of results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
President Jonathan gave the admonition via his official Facebook page in the wake of claims of victory by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr. President also urged Nigerians to comport themselves in orderly manner so as to maintain law and order.
President Jonathan wrote: “We waited patiently to vote in these elections, now I want to urge all Nigerians to also wait patiently for the Independent National Electoral Commission to collate and announce results.
“We must ensure that we do not get involved in acts that breach our peaceful co-existence that we patriotically demonstrated during the elections.
“May God bless Nigeria.”
