Beyonce cemented her position as the biggest pop star on the planet when she brought her video album, Lemonade to life on stage at the 2016 MTV Music Awards, VMA on Sunday, August 28, 2016.
In a full 15-minute live show, Beyonce brought on a powerful performance that “an artistic musing on violence that, like her album, also showcase her showmanship and untouchable talent as an artist“.
She opened her performance with Pray You Catch Me, women dropping dead, and finally, she too as a boy wearing a hoodie wraps his arms around her, one cannot but remember the tragic story of Trayvon Martin.
Then she moved into Hold Up and Sorry – the songs that allegedly point to her husband’s affairs. At some point, she smashes the camera’s screen. It was pure magic!
