Victor Olaotan, the actor who plays Fred Ade Williams on Mnet’s long-running television drama, Tinsel, is facing the harrowing decision of giving a nod to the amputation of his two legs.
NET.ng reports that the 65-year-old veteran actor’s medical situation is as a result of a motor accident he was involved in in October 2016
According to the entertainment newspaper, Olaotan’s legs may be cut off in order to save his life.
“A reliable source close to the family confirmed to us that his health status is being closely guarded and is the reason that no explanation has been given for his extended stay away from the public,” the report said.
“Only family members, few friends and colleagues are aware of this development,” a source said.
According to reports, Olaotan’s condition was so severe that he was placed on a medically induced coma shortly after the accident.
Olaotan’s character, Fred Ade Williams, was killed off from the show in 2014 after seven years on the soap opera.
Shortly after the fatal accident last year, reports from his family said he was in “a stable condition”.
A family member was quoted by Daily Post as saying: “E ṣá ba wa dúpẹ́ (Please just be thankful on our behalf).
“He is stable and fine. We his family are thankful,” the source added.
