Vice President Namadi Sambo lost his younger brother in a tragic motor accident on Sunday, April 27, 2014.
58-year-old Capt. Yusuf Sabo Sambo was burnt to death after the BMW X6 he was driving hit a tree and burst into flames along Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, Abuja.
An eyewitness, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu tweeted that Sambo was burnt to death still sitting in the drivers seat.
Terrible terrible accident on the Abuja airport road this morning. X6 completely burnt down with driver still in his seat. Lord!!!

Story is that he was a pilot late for work.

Until his death, Capt Sambo was a pilot who worked with the former Nigerian Airways and the Presidential Air Fleet. He later retired from paid employment.
President Goodluck Jonathan and the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan yesterday paid a condolence visit to the Vice President on the loss of his brother.
He is survived by a wife, three daughters, and 10 siblings.
He was buried on Sunday, April 27, 2014 according to Islamic rites.
