The government of Imo State has accused the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of masterminding the insecurity in the state.
The government spoke through its Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba.
Emelumba said the PDP had vowed from the onset to make the state ungovernable for Uzodimma.
The Imo spokesman said the PDP was engineering insecurity because power was taken from the party during the Supreme Court ruling that brought Hope Uzodinma to power.
Hear him, “the former Deputy Governor, Gerald Irona, was quoted as saying that ‘he will make the state ungovernable if the Apex Court failed to review its earlier judgement that brought Hope Uzodinma to power.
“It was all over the social media where he made the threat and it was never denied nor retracted later on.
“Now, the same leadership of the PDP is calling for Uzodinma’s resignation. What do you call this?
“A lot has happened in Imo State in recent times and the opposition party never condemned any of them.
