Osama Bin Laden’s son-in-law, Suleiman Abu Ghaith, was on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 sentenced to life imprisonment in New York, United State after being convicted with charges of terrorism.
In March, a Manhattan federal jury discovered that the 48-year old Kuwaiti man was guilty of conspiracy to kill Americans, agreeing to provide material support for terrorists and eventually providing the materials.
Addressing Ghaith, the US District Judge Lewis Kaplan, stated it was his “assessment that you are committed to doing everything you can to carry out al Qaeda’s agenda to kill Americans.”
Videos and Audio records evidence against him revealed Ghaith, who was arrested in Turkey, is one of the highest-ranking al Qaeda figures to be brought to the United States to face a civilian trial.
Videos showed Abu Ghaith as representing al Qaeda after attacks on September 11, 2001.
