A young woman from the United States of America has been arrested by the police when they discovered a crying baby in her car’s boot.
According to a report by Parent 24, the woman allegedly stopped by the police because of a broken tail light and out of fear, she reportedly asked her teen passenger to hide her five-month-old baby in the boot of the car to avoid being fined because she had failed to put the baby in a child seat.
Therefore, the teen passenger hid the baby in the boot as instructed by the mum. However, luck ran out of them as one of the police officials heard the baby crying and tried to find out where the baby was, only to discover the child was lying on a pair of golden garden shears, a tyre iron and a rusty coat hanger all in the boot.
The woman is faced with several charges together with a substantial jail bond for this terrible act all in a bid to avoid being fined.
Parent 24 noted in one of their recent articles that child safety should be one topic that should be taken seriously.
Though considered to be a mistake, but children should always be put in the child seat to ensure their safety in case of accident.
According to Parent 24, some car safety measures for kids include:
• Always use correctly installed and sized car seats for infants and young children.
• Never leave large objects (or very small ones) within reach of a child as smaller objects could present a choking hazard and large ones could be dangerous in the event of an accident.
• Consider installing mirrors or other devices which allow the driver to see what’s happening on the back seat.
• Disable rear windows and door catches to prevent children from opening them while in the car is moving.
