Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal torture of three women in Ejigbo area of Lagos State weeks ago.
The Lagos State Police Command made the arrests on Saturday January 18th 2014 following increased efforts by the Ejigbo market authorities, who had reportedly been given an ultimatum by the monarch, Oba Moruf Ojoola of Ejigbo.
The three women, alleged to have stolen pepper, were stripped naked and arduously tortured by a group of men. The video footage thereafter went viral on the internet, receiving an outburst of condemnation from the general public.
One of the victims reportedly died from the injuries inflicted on her during the dastardly act.
