University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus was last weekend hit by tragedy as a law lecturer, Bede Opata allegedly committed suicide.
The lecturer, a Ph.D. holder was a son of a former Commissioner in the old Anambra state, Chief Cletus Opata and had worked in the university since 2011.
Informed sources at the university said the deceased had taken his life in his apartment within the town on Saturday night but his body was discovered on Sunday. It is still unclear what the issues surrounding the deceased death are.
The 38-year old Opata hailed from Nsukka area of Enugu state.
