Some armed bandits believed to be Fulani herdsmen on Sunday, May 20, 2018, hit Kaduna state again and kidnapped at least three women in Maganda village, Birnin Gwari local government area.
Daily Trust reports that the kidnapped women were wives of one Adamu Nakwana, a popular businessman in Birnin Gwari.
The women were abducted in the early hours of the day, around 1.30am, when the unknown gunmen stormed Madanga village and headed straight to Nakwana’s house.
The report quoted a resident, who did not want to be named, as saying: “The bandits, about 80 of them in number locked down the whole town when they attacked on Sunday morning. “They went straight to Alhaji Adamu’s house and took away his three wives.
They did not harm any person but people are fleeing as they do not know if they will come back for another attack.” The resident also said that the bandits later released one of the women with a contact number to get in touch with the abductors of the other two women for negotiation on their release.
“The bandits later released one of the women and gave her a number instructing that Alhaji Adamu should call them probably to negotiate for payment of ransom for the release of the women,” he added. The Police Command in Kaduna has yet to confirm the report.
