The University of Ibadan has ranked amongst the top 10 universities in Africa.
The ranking which was released on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 by the Journals consortium ranks the University of Ibadan 8th in Africa.
According to a ThisDay report, the rating was done based on research publications and citations done by students of the university within the last five years.
South Africa produced 6 of the top 10 universities, Egypt produced 2, while Nigeria and Kenya produced 1 university each.
The University of Nigeria, Nssuka was ranked as the 2nd best university in Nigeria and 13th in Africa, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) was 18th in Africa and and Nigeria’s 3rd best university.
University of Lagos and the Obafemi Awolowo University ranked 4th and 5th respectively.
