The Ikire campus of the Osun State University has been shut down indefinitely following the death of a fellow student in an accident.
Announcing the closure via a memo by the registrar of the university said the decision became necessary after the all night violent protest of the student.
In a report by Punch newspaper the public relations officer of the university, Oladeji Abokede said the shut down took effect from Saturday, August 16, 2014
He said, “The management has closed down the Ikire Campus due to a violent protest by the students. The closure is indefinite. We will inform them when to resume.”
