Student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 halted activities in the Edo State capital as they took to the streets to protest the death of a student of the school who died after she was run over by an army patrol vehicle.
According to an eyewitness who spoke anonymously, said the deceased, whose name was simply given as Rita, was in company of a friend (names withheld) when they were hit.
The witness availed that that Rita, who is a 200 level student of Philosophy died instantly while her friend was rushed to a hospital and is currently responding to treatment.See photos from the protest below: (Click on any picture to enlarge)
