The University’s Governing Council (UGC) of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has on appointed professor Osasere Faradey Orumwense as the institution’s substantive vice-chancellor, PM News reports.
Orumwense, a professor of material engineering, who until his appointment was UNIBEN’s dean of the faculty of engineering will replace professor Osayuki Godwin Oshodin whose time as vice-chancellor runs out in November 2014.
He succeeds the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, whose tenure expires in November, 2014.
He boasts an illustrious academic administrative career having served as the administrator of UNIBEN’s Ekehuan campus and the rector of Edo-state owned Institute of management Technology (IMT), Usen.
