A 14-month-old baby girl has been discovered dead after her 16-year-old uncle raped her in Qalyubiya, Egypt.
Officials at the Banha University Hospital said the child arrived dead to the hospital after a sharp fall in blood circulation. After doctors examined her body, they found out she was anally assaulted.
The deceased baby’s mother who has not been identified, claimed she died of diarrhea in her bid to cover up for her brother, Egypt independent had reported.
Further probe into the incident revealed that she was sexually assaulted by her uncle, who has confessed to the charge.
The unnamed uncle has been detained for days pending further investigation into the matter.
