Popular social media platform, Twitter on Sunday, February 1, 2015 suspended an account supposedly used by Islamist sect, Boko Haram less than a week after it was opened.
The handle, Alurwa Alwuthqa has been used in the past few days to announce the insurgents’ capture of Moguno and also showcase images of its child jihadists in training.
Twitter rules abhor posting of “specific threats of violence against others.”
The social media platform has in the recent past closed the account of Somalia’s Al-Shabaab after the the rebels used the site to claim responsibility for the terror attack on Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, Kenya in September 2013.
