Barely a day after congratulating Governor-elect of Lagos State – Akinwunmu Ambode – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has come out to question the credibility of the election, saying that his decision to congratulate Ambode was in the greater interest of Lagos and did not mean that the poll was devoid of anomalies.
Speaking via his Twitter page, Obanikoro took a swipe at Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State for kicking against the governorship election in his state which saw Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerge winner.
See his tweet below:
I congratulated Ambode based on the larger interest of Lagos State. Amaechi and his co-travelers in Rivers State should learn from this. #MO

In his response, Governor Amaechi said he will not congratulate Wike, describing the election in Rivers State as daylight robbery.
See his tweets below:
@MObanikoro Bcos of the larger interest of Rivers state I & most Rivers people will not accept that daylight robbery they called elections.1
