PALM BEACH, USA — President-elect Donald Trump has named Kimberly Guilfoyle, former Fox News personality and prominent political figure, as his nominee for the United States ambassador to Greece.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 by Trump on Truth Social.
“For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally,” the former president wrote.
“Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad.
Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defence cooperation to trade and economic innovation.”
Guilfoyle, a former assistant district attorney in California and co-host of Fox News’ The Five, expressed gratitude for the nomination in a statement on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity,” Guilfoyle said.

The appointment also drew enthusiastic support from Donald Trump Jr., to whom Guilfoyle was previously engaged.
“I am so proud of Kimberly,” Trump Jr. posted on X.
“She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First.”
Guilfoyle’s career spans law, media, and politics. After leaving Fox News in 2018, she played a significant role as finance chair for Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign.
She also became a key witness in the House select committee’s investigation into the January 6 Capitol attack, testifying on her involvement in fundraising efforts leading up to the “Stop the Steal” rally.
This announcement follows other high-profile appointments by Trump involving individuals closely tied to his family.
Trump recently named Charles Kushner, the father of Jared Kushner, as the next US ambassador to France.
Massad Boulos, father-in-law to Tiffany Trump, was also selected as senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.
Guilfoyle’s appointment highlights Trump’s continued preference for allies and close confidants in significant roles, furthering his “America First” agenda.
If confirmed by the Senate, Guilfoyle will oversee US-Greece relations, a critical partnership in defence, trade, and regional stability.
