The River State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja have annulled the election of Chief Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship poll in the State.
The tribunal judgement delivered on Saturday, October 24, 2015 by Justice Suleiman Ambrosa ordered that fresh elections should be conducted within ninety days on the basis of the card reader accreditation during the election.
Speaking with newsmen after the judgement, Counsel to the PDP, Chris Uche, SAN, made it known that Governor Wike will appeal the judgement of the tribunal.
Uche also declared that Governor Wike remains governor until the appeal process is exhausted.
