OWERRI – It was a tragic New Year service in a local church in Umuogwuta, Ndegwu, Owerri West Local Government of Imo State, as a lady slumped and died while giving her testimony.
The Lagos-based lady, Ifeoma Anozie returned to the village for the Christmas holiday when she met her sad end.
An eyewitness told Vanguard, “The Lagos-based lady, Ifeoma Anozie, collapsed and died while giving her testimony inside Saint John’s Anglican Church, Ndegwu.”
“The lady had hardly commenced her testimony when she suddenly slumped and died in front of the officiating cleric and left the congregation completely perplexed,” the villager said.
Another villager named Felicia said, “The church service was designed to be a double celebration for the Anozie family. It, however, turned out to be a tragedy for the family, the church and Ndegwu community.”
Villagers spoke highly of the deceased saying she was a very promising lady and her sudden death came as a shock to them.
The cause of death is unknown as the time of this report. The body of the lady has been deposited in the morgue.
