IKEJA, Nigeria – A Nigerian Airforce female Master Warrant Officer, identified only by her surname, George, serving at 651 Base Services Group, was found dead on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in an apparent suicide.
According to sources within the military, the Air Force personnel was found unresponsive in her residence at Block T5 Flat 8 in Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Ikeja, Lagos.
She had apparently hanged herself in her room, with the time of death estimated at about 2:00 PM on June 10, 2023.
The Air Force personnel was reportedly pronounced dead by a team of three Air Provosts who, along with additional personnel, had arrived to evacuate the body to the 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital.
The cause of Officer George’s action remains unknown, with sources revealing an ongoing investigation to ascertain the reason for her tragic death.
