An early morning fire on Sunday, February 13, 2022, destroyed parts of a popular market, Atakunmosa Ereja square in Ilesha, Osun State, leaving traders bemoaning their losses.
The fire started around 1:50am with some residents quickly alerting the fire service.
A trader, Deborah disclosed the fire started from a shop and later spread to 12 others before the fire service men put it under control.
When contacted, the spokesperson, Osun Fire Service, Adekunle Ibrahim confirmed the incident, noting no life was lost in the incident.
He explained: “A roll of shops comprises of 12 units on Fire, severely damaged by fire. Our men have put it under control.”
Clement Daramola, the zonal commandant for, Federal Fire Service, Zone L (Osun, Ekiti &Ondo), confirmed the incident.
