Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta admits that the La Liga opposition, Atletico Madrid gave them a good run during the Copa del Rey that ended 1-0 in favour of his team on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He stated that Atletico made it hard for them to play their game.
Speaking with Goal.com, Iniesta stated that the late goal which came from his team mate, Lionel Messi was the saving grace that gave them the first advantage which eventually pulls them narrowly to th end of the match.
“It’s a good result, but it’s not over,the next 90 minutes will be very tense. We’ve done a great job in front of a very tough rival. We need to continue like this.” He said
“The 1-0 makes us happy. Having a clean sheet is a step but does not guarantee anything. We’re tryng to get things right at the back.
“It’s hard to play Atletico because they leave you very few options but I still think we played well and were suprerior in areas.”
Iniesta added that he is happy with his own form but is still intends to improve on his performance before the end of the season.
“I feel good, you have to be happy. There’s always something left to think about and the maybe that is to come in the rest of the season,” he said.
