The group rose to international fame in the late 1960s and 1970s, producing a string of hits that defined an era of pop music.

Songs like “ABC” and “I Want You Back” became global sensations after the group signed with Motown Records in 1969.

Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson, Tito and his brothers were raised in Gary, Indiana, under the strict management of their father, Joe Jackson.

Despite the Jackson 5’s overwhelming success, Tito’s role as a guitarist was often overshadowed, with session musicians playing on the group’s early records.

In addition to his work with the Jackson 5, Tito was nominated for three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 alongside his brothers.

Although the Jackson 5’s career was eclipsed by Michael Jackson’s solo success, Tito went on to launch his own solo blues career in 2003, showcasing his talent as a musician.

The Jackson 5’s groundbreaking contributions to music, characterized by Tito’s guitar work and Michael’s lead vocals, helped shape the landscape of pop and R&B.

Though Michael’s solo career achieved unprecedented success, Tito’s legacy as part of the Jackson family remains a cornerstone in music history.
