KADUNA, Nigeria – Shehu Sani, the outgoing senator representing Kaduna Central, has warned against stopping the inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29, expressing concerns that doing so could lead Nigeria into political paralysis and anarchy.
In a tweet on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Sani stated, “The inauguration should not be stopped so that we don’t jump into political paralysis and anarchy.” He added, “The PDP and LP are in court, and that’s okay. I believe even those who are in court want to inherit the country in one piece.”

Tinubu’s victory in the last presidential election remains a contentious issue, as opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), are challenging his victory in court.
Both Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the LP claim they won the election; however, Tinubu was declared the contentious and deeply flawed winner.
Sani’s remarks emphasize the importance of maintaining stability in Nigeria’s political landscape, even amid ongoing legal challenges to the election results.
His statement serves as a reminder that the country’s future well-being should be the top priority for all political parties involved.
