ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu expanded his presidential staff on Monday, July 10, 2023, with the appointment of 20 new aides.
The latest appointments, including senior special assistants, personal assistants, and a personal physician, follow a series of similar appointments just three weeks prior.
Among the significant new appointments is Tunde Rahman, a veteran journalist and political analyst, now taking the helm as the senior special assistant, SSA, on media.
Additionally, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz has been appointed as SSA on print media, a role focused on liaising with and overseeing interactions with the national print media outlets.
Another notable appointment is Ibrahim Masari, a respected political strategist who will take on the role of SSA on political affairs, a crucial position at the heart of the president’s political strategy and dealings.
The president’s personal physician role has been filled by Adekunle Tinubu, while Damilotun Aderemi will take on the role of senior special assistant (Private Secretary), managing the president’s private affairs and engagements.
Toyin Subair has been named as the senior special assistant (domestic), overseeing the internal operations and domestic management within the presidential residence.
New digital-focused roles have also been created, with O’Tega Ogra being appointed as senior special assistant (digital/new media), and Segun Dada taking the role of special assistant on social media.
Further appointments include Demola Oshodi as senior special assistant (Protocol), Tope Ajayi as senior special assistant (media & public affairs), and Yetunde Sekoni and Motunrayo Jinadu, both of whom have been named as senior special assistants.
Logistics responsibilities will be managed by Paul Adekanye, appointed as the special assistant (logistics), and housekeeping by Friday Soton as the special assistant (housekeeping).
Shitta-Bey Akande will oversee catering services as the special assistant (catering), and visual communications and photography will be handled by Nosa Asemota, who has been appointed as the special assistant (visual communication) personal photographer.
Rounding out the list of new appointments is Kamal Yusuf, who will serve as the personal assistant for special duties to the president.
These appointments underline President Tinubu’s continued efforts to build a strong, diverse team to aid him in his presidential duties, further cementing his administration’s mandate.
