The Enugu State campaign office of the All progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari was on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 attacked by unknown gunmen.
Although detaiks coud not be authoritatively affirmed, Naij reports that the attack could be linked to an previous rancour in the party’s rank following claims that certain members of the party siphoned monies meant for General Buhari’s Enugu rally.
The Enugu State youth leader, Iyke Oloto, who was reportedly beaten and taken away, later send a message to the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, alleging that the APC Enugu State gubernatorial candidate, Okey Ezea was behind the attack.
The message read:
“My National Chairman sir, greetings of the season. Please my name is Prince Ike Oloto, state youth leader and a state working committee member, Enugu State.
“I want to inform you of the injustice and discrimination done to us by our state chairman and guber candidate, Mr. Okey Ezea.
“Sir, our consistent demand to know the financial status of our party APC and insisting that our State SWC and SEC are carried along in the state, some of us including my humble self, is either suspended, excluded or sidelined in party affairs.
“My name was removed and replaced in BCO.
“More so, Barr Ezea guber candidate has been bought and settled by PDP with N600m.
“Right now, Barr Okey Ezea, is sabotaging APC as saboteur and PDP mole.
“All GMB funds and logistics to Enugu State has been dubiously channelled to his private account and not utilised.
“Mark my word Sir and quote me.
“Your true servant, Prince Ike Oloto.”
