A three-storey building was destroyed by fire at the Idumota area of Lagos Island on Monday, March 2, 2015 with property worth millions of naira.
The fire, which lasted for about 10 hours, started from the third floor of the building and later spread to other floors.
Both the Lagos State Fire Service and National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the tragic incident, saying five fire trucks were at the scene to control the fire.
Speaking on the incident, the director, Lagos State Fire Service Razaq Fadipe, said the security measures put in place by residents prevented the firefighters from gaining easy access into the building.
