No fewer than three officials of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Imo State had been reported dead following an auto crash in Uromi Edo State on their way to the Owerri from Abuja.
The three victims according to a statement on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 by the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, included Mr. Tony Mgbeahurike (State Publicity Secretary); Obinna Ibe and Uche Okeke, a pharmacist.
It was gathered that the officials had accompanied the party’s governorship aspirant, Okey Eze, to collect his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The State Organising Secretary of the party, Chief John Iwuala, is said to be lying critically injured in an undisclosed hospital.
Umeh, in a condolence message addressed to the Chairman of APGA in Imo State, Peter Ezeobi, and all members of the party and signed by his Media Assistant, Mr. Stan Okeke, commiserated with all and sundry affected by the loss of the officials.
He said, “We also pray God to save the life of John Iwuala who is still lying critically injured from the accident in the hospital, and enjoin our party members in Imo State to take heart.”
