Officers of the Katsina State Police Command on Thursday, July 2, 2015 arraigned three farmers, identified as Yahuza Musa (20), Tasiu Abubakar (20) and Sadiq Isyaku (20), before a senior Magistrates Court for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl.
According to Vanguard, the accused persons reside at Dakiya village in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State were arraigned on a one count charge before the court presided over Senior Magistrate Nafisa Bagiwa.
Insp. Hashimu Musa, the prosecutor informed the court that the accused persons had committed the offence at about 11:30am on June 11, 2015. He revealed that the Safana police was informed of the incident by one Isa Ali, the father of the victim, on June 12, 2015.
The complainant said that the victim had gone to purchase mango at Dakiya village in the company of her three sisters. He further revealed that the accused had accosted the sisters in the bush where they proceeded to push the victim to the ground. He said that Musa held her hands while Abubakar and Isyaku tore off her skirt and underwear and they each took turns to have carnal knowledge of her.
