The All Progressives Congress (APC) seems to be on an uncontrollable downward spiral as the disunity in the party took a new turn after eight governors elected on the party’s platform on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 asked the National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun to resign honorably.
According to reports, the governors paid Oyegun a surprise visit after their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, demanding he resigns following his poor handling of the National Assembly crisis which saw Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara emerge as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, against the wish of the party leadership.
The governors who visited Oyegun included Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and Abubuakar Badaru (Jigawa).
