The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chided the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lai Mohammed for making unsubstantiated allegations against the PDP and its leaders.
Speaking in an interview with Punch, the PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo and National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh described as reckless, irresponsible and highly provocative, the statement by Mohammed that the PDP was making moves to discredit President Muhammadu Buhari’s proposed probe of the past administration.
Metuh said: “In trying to escalate their stock-in-trade of lies, wild allegations and falsehood, the APC failed to understand that their baseless fabrications are capable of throwing an unsuspecting nation into chaos.
“The spate of fabrications by Lai Mohammed has become a sickening source of worry for well-meaning Nigerians including those in his party.”
Metuh went on to urge President Buhari and the APC to call Mohammed to order before he causes chaos with ” wild and unsubstantiated claims.”
On his part, Jalo said: “We are not against probe, but let the rule of law be followed.
“Mohammed should also be able to prove the allegations he made in his statement that we have bribed people to write and speak against the probe.”
